Feeding Tube Placement

Hello all. Here is an update for you. Trent has really been down the last couple days. Since finding out last night that he needed a feeding tube, he has been really blue. This morning I felt so helpless as he lay there. The dietician came and said in spite of our best efforts last night Trent can not even come close to meeting his caloric requirements..so..they took him down to radiology around 11 and put the feeding tube in from his nose to his small intestine. They also gave him antianxiety meds...he came back with his spirits up, walked the halls with Rydel, and wanted to check the blog about him ( and comments) for the first time. Not sure if it was the " happy meds" or the relief of the procedure being done. We went from worry this morning to happiness seeing him perk up!!

  1. Ups and downs...that's how the recovery process goes. We have lots of confidence in your ability to overcome whatever comes your way, Trent! If love alone could speed the healing you would be out playing basketball right now! Hugs from Houston ~ Andy and Patty

  4. Trent -- When you sleep, there is One who never slumbers or sleeps, when you are feeling faint, remember the One who never faints, when you are ever so weary, remember there is One never grows weary. Even though your body is weak now, your spirit is strong in our Lord. I have enjoyed Isaiah 40:28-31. Julia Brist

  5. Glad to hear you are feeling a little more up! Love what Julia shared above! So true. Hope you are surviving the feeding tube! With all that nutrition filling your body...you will be getting better quickly! As always...love you much! I hope you know what an inspiration you are to your cousins!! I often see tears in Kyla's eyes when she is talking about you. And,well...you know Kelsey...they flow freely! Kendra asks for a report every night when I pick her up from band camp. Keep on keeping on!
Love, Sandy and the rest of us...all the way down to Riley boy!!

  7. I am glad you are looking at the blogs Trent and thankful that your Mom is keeping them updated. There are so many people that are waitng for you to get better and deeply care for you and your family. The amount of support you have through Rocklin is extremely moving. In a very big way your courage and support has been inspiring to Zach. He found out last week that his elbow surgery is no longer able to wait and they are starting the process of arranging his surgeries. As he has much anxiety and concern over the procedure (and being out of basketball for a year), he is finding amazing strength and some peace of mind following your recovery and how brave all of you have been. His exact words were this makes my elbow seem small and that is so true. All of us are so sorry that you are going through this but you are truly an inspiring young man that has impacted so many lives in a very positive way. Keep getting better!!

  10. Hello to Trent and all the rest. It is Sunday morning here and the middle of the night where you are, but the sun will soon be shining both in the sky and in you when you gain strength with more nutrition. Keep your chin up. We have been keeping very close contact with messages from there. We hurt when you hurt so are glad for every positive report. Eva Lassemo is so good to let us use her computer to check on you. With loads of love to you all there. Auntie Sylvia and Elton
