text: 7/24, 7:02 a.m.

"2 drs already in this morning. Spine dr ok with fit of his collar(he's so tall it's a bit short). Trauma dr going to order case manager for us to try deal with insurance. Going to give him a liquid bkft. The palate split open further during the night. More vomiting blood last night. One pupil was quite large in the night as well for not long but trauma dr feels both the pupil and the nausea are related to the concussion. He didn't have an answer for the unequal pupil but CT was ok so will just watch.

7:03 a.m. "(the Phenergan that stopped the vomiting was about 3. a.m."

8:35 a.m. "Got off phone with insurance.  All are contracted with BC/BS.  So hospital should be able to get auth!!"

I then asked Elaine if there was still any danger regarding swelling and his brain, and this was her response:

"His brain should be fine...he wasn't tracking quite right here in the hospital yesterday but better today.  The eye thing was so strange.  But he is now considered stable and out of danger.  I think he'll surprise us with how fast he'll recover."
